Competition Information
Whether your skater is in Canskate, Pre-Star, or already in the Star program, there are competitions they can attend.

There is usually a CanSkate competition held in Lethbridge in early December. Check back around this time for more information.

If your child has entered the Star or Competitive Skate streams, there are many opportunities for them to compete throughout the year.

The 2020-2021 competitive season is currently postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Skating Tests
Every skater has the opportunity to take tests in four different disciplines:

Freeskate, Dance, Skating Skills, and Interpretive.

Skate Canada is in the process of converting all its levels to the Star format, but for now, levels for tests are as follows:

Star 1-5. Senior Bronze, Junior Silver, Senior Silver, Gold.

Star 1-5 correspond with the old Preliminary and Junior Bronze tests.

Your skater's coach can test Freeskate, Dance, and Skating Skills up to the Star 5 level during regular lesson time. A $12 Skate Canada fee is required before your skater takes their test.

Sr. Bronze to Gold level and Interpretive tests must be taken at a test day with a judge.

If you have any questions about what tests your skater has taken or will be taking, please contact your coach.
